The concert documentary, "Michael Jackson's,  This Is It", had a really  unique  PR  machine working for it!  The highly anticipated  movie had so much buzz, and they said it was only going to  play for 2 weeks!  And with his untimely death, this was the movie, everyone wanted to see! What a stroke of marketing genius!  Make the people create a frenzy to buy advance tickets and sell out theaters!

"Celine: Through the Eyes of the World" follows another pop icon, Celine Dion, from start to finish of her 2008-2009 Taking Chance World Tour. We get to see her experiences, good and bad, during the year-long tour that took her to 23 countries, 93 cities and 131 shows...blah, blah, blah.

Celine lamented  "The show in Las Vegas was so successful, so many people came year after year, I really thought . . . Who's left to perform for?" Dion said from her home in Florida on Thursday, the day of the public premiere of  her new  tour-film-documentary. "I was a little bit nervous about that."

Oh, sure you were! 

More than 800 HOURS were footage  was shot for this 2 hour film.  So, her marketing concept?  Let's charge more than every other film ever made. More than Titanic. More than Harry Potter. More than Star Wars. MORE THAN  AVATAR.!  Why? Not because it's in 3-D! Not because it's in IMAX.  Just because, she's  Celine Dion! 

The ticket price is normally set by the theater chain. As a result, prices will vary, ever so slightly,  for each theater. MOST theaters charge around $9-$11 for adult tickets.  However, if you want to see Celine on the big screen, and just can't wait for the dvd,  it'll cost ya $14-$16.50!

"Celine: Through the Eyes of the World" is only in theaters for a limited time. ALLEGEDLY.

Oh, and just in case you missed Celine in Las Vegas - don't fret -  she's coming back, for her farewell, farewell, farewell tour  in March 2011. Don't break your neck getting tickets - she'll be there at Caesars's  for  3  more  years! Tickets on sale now. 

 I thought she said   there was no one else to perform for....
