Menudo Singer Angelo Garcia Goes Gay... and Nude

REMEMBER MENUDO?
Of course not, you're too damn young. Well you now who Ricky Martin is, right? Back in the 70's there was latin boy band named Menudo. One of Ricky's bandmates, ANGELO GARCIA was also in Menudo.
As a member of Menudo in its heyday, and with a voice that captured hearts around the globe, Angelo spent his tween years as an object of adoration throughout the Spanish-speaking world. He performed in front of tens of thousands of adoring fans, while millions more bought his albums. His look was innocent, almost androgynous, and armies of young girls swooned over him.
After leaving Menudo, Angelo launched a solo career that lasted until he decided to take a break and finish college. He also did some stripping / exotic dancing here and there.
For the last seven years, Angelo has been composing original songs in Spanish and in English.
Don't Keep Me Holding On
He has released a Spanish-language album titled "Cool" that was featured on the motion picture soundtrack to Yellow, starring Roselyn Sánchez.

He says, "I think of myself sort of in the tradition of Madonna and Lady Gaga. I do not believe in ruts. I believe that to stay the same is to stagnate. That's why I'm always reinventing myself. And it's not just my look. I always open to new ideas, musical styles, and fashions. If I've never tried something before, then I definitely want to!
During college, I started working as a male stripper. Exotic dancing started as a way to make quick money, but I grew to love it. I was able to make a living showing off my body and being a performer, it gave me great satisfaction to see the pleasure, the lust, that I was able to bring to my audience. It's exciting to think you're giving someone a taste of their wildest sexual fantasy.
I look back particularly fondly on my performances at the old Gaiety Theatre on Times Square in New York. For those who don't know, the Gaiety was like an old-fashioned burlesque show, but with the world's hottest male performers and a mixed audience of men and women."

Every dancer at the Gaiety first performed a strip tease dance until he was totally naked. The second dance would be naked throughout, with a full erection the entire time. The audience would gasp when they saw me start the hard-on dance, then they cheered wildly. I put every bit as much into choreographing and performing those routines as I do into creating my music videos or stage performances. Naked or clothed, raging erection or no, when I'm performing, I always give 100%!
That period was a time of personal growth and exploration for me. I took advantage of the time out of the limelight to push every sexual boundary. I've had an amazing youth, have had everything I wanted, I've experienced every kind of pleasure, and now I'm in a great place and ready to move forward with my life as a composer, singer, dancer - as a performer.

For all of us, discovering our sexuality is a process. None of us hits puberty knowing exactly where we fall on the spectrum of sexuality. We fantasize, we explore erotica and porn, we masturbate, we fuck, and we gradually get to know who we are sexually. I've never been in the closet and I've never lied about my sexuality. I believe in being honest with myself and others. I'm a very sexual person and I love sex with men. I've never told anyone anything different.
I can't speak for Ricky, and I don't know what his life was like after we parted ways. I'm glad that he's come out. It's better for him to stop hiding, and it's better for all of us. If every gay singer, actor, governor, lawyer, doctor, judge, teacher, athlete, senator, whatever would just come out and admit that he or she is gay, then the straight world would realize that being gay doesn't mean we are flawed. We were born with this other way of expressing love. It is neither better nor worse that being straight. It is just who we are.
Of course, I knew that Ricky was gay, but I would never "out" anyone. I know he seems to have a wonderful family now and to be comfortable in his own skin. What more could anyone want? He's a talented performer, and his being homosexual doesn't diminish that in any way. I am hopeful that the openly gay Ricky Martin will be as successful as the closeted Ricky Martin, and I wish him well.
