Ricky Martins Broke Gay Ass Takes Blood Money from Target
Just last week, Latin pop star Ricky Martin was "honored" by media group GLAAD for his work as a role model, because he urged people to spread gay rights throughout Latin America.
Ok, so it only took him 20 years to come out of the closet. And he came out at a time his career was kind at a low point.
"I just want to be free. I can say, today I am free," the Puerto Rican singer said at New York's Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards, which recognize the best portrayals of gay community members in film, television, radio, music, newspapers and blogs.
Ricky performed at a meeting of the managers of Target, the US retailer that has been criticised for supporting homophobic political groups.
Earlier this month, Lady Gaga walked away from an exclusive deal with the retailer after the company allegedly continued its past practice of donating to right-wing anti-gay causes.
Ricky Martin joined Jennifer Hudson on stage at the day-long meeting of more than 10,000 managers of Target stores.
Martin has had a deal to promote his music in-store since February 1st of this year.
