A  California  Court  convicted 90's  gay porn star  of attempted murder for smashing his girlfriend over the head with a toilet tank lid.

Marc Anthony Donais, 47,  aka  Ryan Idol, was taken into custody and held without bail after his conviction for the  2009 attack in the girlfriends home  in Sacramento.   WHOOPSIE!

Life after porn has not been pretty for Ryan. In 1998, Idol was seriously injured after falling from a window of his third-floor apartment in New York City. He  said  the fall  was  a "near-death experience". Idol has stated that he doesn't recall jumping but that "the drugs and alcohol took over."

In 2008, he is mentioned  in court documents related to a lawsuit filed by HealthSouth in connection with allegations of misuse of funds donated to Birmingham, Alabama mayor Larry Langford‘s Computer Help for Kids charity. The papers show $30,000 being paid to Idol, with $5,000 coming from the charity and $25,000 from the Council of Cooperating Governments.

Charity director John Katopodis testified in a deposition that  Donais was paid to repair computers and also to set up computer giveaway programs in other areas.  Donais testified that, because of his 1998 fall, he was "not at [his] full faculties" and could not recall the details of his time with the organization.   hmmmmm.

In court this week, according to testimony at trial, the 41-year-old  ex-girlfriend said she  had broken up with Donais. 

 She testified she moved out of their West Sacramento condo. He showed up at her door the night of the attack,  while she was taking a bath.

She told jurors she let Donais into the house and that he immediately told her he wanted to kill her. He testified at trial that he thought she had pulled a knife on him during their discussion in her bathroom and that he grabbed the toilet tank lid and hit her with it out of self defense.

He is in jail, without bond, awaiting sentencing.
