Extreme Makeover Home Edition and The Walker Family Stand Together to Stop Bullying

On December 2nd, Extreme Makeover Home Edition will air their anti-bullying episode where the EM:HE team of designers including  Michael Moloney, globally-renowned home design expert, will surprise the Walker family of Springfield, Massachusetts.

On April 6th, 2009, 11-year-old Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover took his own life...forever changing the Walker family. For almost a year, Carl had told his mother, Sirdeaner Walker about the many incidents of kids bullying him at school. The family still hasn’t been able to return to normal after this tragic event, but they have focused their energy on helping others. The family has turned this tragic accident into something positive by lobbying for new state and federal laws against bullying. (ABC). (Why doesn't Obama do something? Why does this have to be a state by state battle??)

The Walker family particularly touched Michael as he remains an active member of the LGBT community. He tells us, “It kind of puts everything into perspective, stories like the ones EM:HE shares. It’s a blessing for me to be able to shed light on causes I believe in, to have the opportunity to fight for things I believe in, and have such a great time while doing it.”

Michael also tells us there is a huge Kardashian surprise, as well as a performance by Demi Lovato on the episode!
